Ara’s Fashion School’s parade, PITCH, is on Saturday 25 November. Male and female students are needed to volunteer to be models. To register for an audition you must be at least 14, meet clothes size and height requirements, and be able to come to the audition, fitting dates and the Fashion Show.
The Model audition will be held on Wednesday 25 October 5 – 6pm.
Female Model Fittings Saturday 18 November 9am – 1.30pm
Male Model Fittings Satruday 18 November 1.30pm – 3.30pm
PITCH Show day Saturday 25 November Show 8.30am – 11pm, Includes rehearsal in the morning, then hair and makeup

This will be a five day residential experience held at Burnham Military Camp and will cater to Secondary School Students that are interested in a career in the Navy, Army or Air Force. This will be held from 01 – 05 October 2017.
They are looking for smart, active and team minded students who are interested in joining the NZDF once they leave school. This is ideally suited for Yr 12 students, but Yr 11 and Yr 13 students can also apply. On Campus Experience (OCE), which is a wonderful opportunity for Year 13 secondary school students – of Māori descent – to explore the University of Otago and the city of Dunedin. Students will have the opportunity to attend lectures in their areas of interest, as well as meet academic staff and current students. They will experience life in a Residential college, and will meet the Māori Centre staff – which provides great support for Māori students when they come to Otago.
The OCE programme is a fully funded initiative, and gives each successful applicant the following: airfare/flight coverage (to and from Dunedin) accommodation, meals, and activities.
Entries are sought from full time Year 13 students of Māori descent, who are currently enrolled in a New Zealand secondary school, and are considering studying at the University of Otago in 2018
All applicants should be students who are completing an appropriate programme at secondary school level, which will lead them to meet University Entrance.

If you are thinking about musical theatre as a career then you may be interested in joining classes for a day at NASDA (National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Art) based at Ara in Christchurch. The first day is March 23rd and places are only limited to 10 people. The aim is for school students to take part in the full NASDA experience; from joining in on morning dance to watching our weekly masterclasses in performance practice. They need models for their end of year fashion show called PITCH, which showcases their fashion students’ work. If you intend applying for a course at Ara, you should attend the application session on Wednesday 17 August, 8.15-9.00 am, in the Common Room in F block.
Liaison staff will be there to help you get the application forms completed. It would be useful if you have downloaded a form and made a start, and if you have settled on the exact course you are applying for. Check before to see if you need to bring ID, know your NZQA National Student Number, and so on.
