Otago University’s Christchurch Health Showcase Day

On Sunday 1 October 2017 from 1-5pm, the University of Otago’s Christchurch campus at 2 Riccarton Ave, on the Christchurch Hospital site will be open to the public to see inside laboratories and learn about research on genetics, cancer, infectious diseases and 3D-bioprinting. You can visit their Simulation Centre where medical students and other health professionals practice skills, such as taking blood or suturing, before using them in real-life medical situations. The Centre is home to high-tech mannequins that can simulate conditions such as heart failure or trauma for students and other health professionals to respond to. Researchers will be available to chat with you and show off some of their work at interactive displays. For more details see: http://www.otago.ac.nz/christchurch/news/community-events/otago616504.html
